Two Ways to Protect Your Files
Zero-Knowledge Encryption (Default)
FileXpire uses zero-knowledge encryption by default for maximum privacy:
- True privacy - Files are encrypted in your browser before upload
- We never see your files - Even we cannot access your content
- End-to-end secure - Only you and recipients with the password can decrypt
- Browser-based - No software installation required
- No password recovery - If you lose your password, the file is gone forever
This is the recommended option for all files, especially sensitive documents.
Standard Encryption (Optional)
For faster uploads, you can disable zero-knowledge encryption:
- Server-side encryption - Files encrypted after upload
- Advanced security - XChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption
- Password protected - Only accessible with your password
- Faster uploads - Optimized for quick sharing
Use this option if you need faster uploads for large files on slow connections.
Your Privacy Matters
What We Collect (And Why)
We're completely transparent about the minimal data we collect:
- Upload filename, IP address, and upload date - For security monitoring and legal compliance
- Security logs - Automatically deleted after 30 days
- That's it - No personal profiles, browsing history, or tracking data
What We DON'T Do
- No tracking or analytics - We don't monitor your browsing behavior
- No cookies - Zero cookies, not even for sessions
- No account required - Share files without registration
- No file scanning - Your encrypted files remain completely private
- No AI training - We never use your data to train AI models
- No data selling - We never sell or share your information with third parties
